The Chicken Chasing Queen of Lamar County by Janice N. Harrington. It won the best book in the Cybils fiction picture book category. Yippee! A phenomenal book. Check out the other Cybils winners over at the Cybils blog.I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this contest. I have made new blogger friends and fallen in love with a whole slew of books because of this opportunity. Many thanks to the organizers.

Thanks so much Natasha! I loved all of the books on the shortlist so much (including yours--one of my favorites of all time). I am so glad I didn't have to choose between the seven. It was such a wonderful experience!

I feel good too for having sent it on to the final judges. It's only hard that everything couldn't win, but I guess then it wouldn't be an award.
